Position Summary:

The Psychology Department at Central Michigan University invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term faculty position to begin in fall 2024.

This position will include both instructional and administrative components. The area of specialty is open. The instructional duties include teaching two psychology courses per semester and the administrative responsibilities include innovating and directing the Department’s existing online Psychology program, which consists of three majors: General, Mental Health Concentration, and Business Psychology Concentration. Our goal is to invigorate the Department’s online program by having a dedicated person to work closely with CMU Innovation and Online (a dedicated unit that provides online learning solutions at CMU).

This is a one year, full-time, academic year position with a negotiable summer administrative appointment, as well as a possible one year appointment extension.

Research is not required but there will be opportunities for collaborative research with existing faculty.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in psychology or related field. ABD will be considered.
  • Experience teaching Psychology courses in both face-to-face and online format.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with our without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of developing online classes or programs.
  • Experience of managing online programs.

The Department of Psychology offers graduate programs in Experimental, Industrial/Organizational, and School Psychology. The department offers an undergraduate major and minor, with major consisting of General Psychology, Mental Health Concentrations, and Business Psychology Concentration.
